Rose-Hart Trail Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit charitable foundation, was founded for the benefit of community service, and the construction of pedestrian trails, mental health, mobility corridors, and environmentally sensitive alternative conduits for inter-regional transportation. Founded in March 2006, Rose-Hart initiated discussions with Texas Department of Transportation (TXDoT) in October of 2005.The original meeting expounded on the benefits for a pedestrian bridge which would span Highway 290 West at Williamson Creek. After several discussions, TXDoT recognized the transportation benefits and reduced congestion gain from pedestrian mobility. The City of Austin (COA) joined a growing group of supporters; after Mr. Draper's June 2006 presentation to Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO). Coupled with Federal, State, County, City, and Community support, Rose-Hart Trail Foundation is leading the way for community service, pedestrian mobility, mental, physical, and spirtual health, while meeting environmental standards; that make Central Texas a unique community.
